Elizabeth Kurian


Elizabeth joined Mission For Vision in May, 2014. She comes with over 24 years’ successful track record in the corporate and development sectors across organisations such as MS University of Baroda, Nielsen India and Sightsavers, where she was Chief Executive for India and then Director of Global Advocacy. She has provided strategic leadership to large programmes in complex, diverse organisational and operating environments, leading highly skilled multi-function teams in Asia and Africa. Over the years, she has pioneered and lead significant growth and transformation through social policy change and innovations that have provided learning and scale for wider application.

Through her role in various boards and advisory panels, Elizabeth has influenced policy and practice at several national and international fora and has various awards and research publications to her credit. Her key areas of interest include governance, strategic leadership, policy, research, multi-function and cross-cultural people management.

Elizabeth has a Master’s degree in Nutrition (for which she was awarded the university first rank and gold medal) and has done an Executive Programme in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. She has also completed leadership courses from the Open University Business School, UK and Roffey Park, UK.

Sabitra Kundu

Head – Programme Development

Sabitra joined Mission For Vision in January, 2015. He is a Science graduate from the University of Kolkata, majoring in Economics. Thereafter he completed his MBA from the esteemed Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal with a specialization in General Management. Sabitra commenced his career in 2002 with Hindustan Latex Limited, a health care manufacturing company in India, as a Project Manager. In 2005 he transitioned to Sightsavers and worked in different capacities, rising to the role of Area Director for North East India and a member of the India management team, through which he contributed to the development of national and global organisational policies.

Sabitra brings with him extensive experience in the developmental sector, specifically in the areas of eye health, disability-inclusive development and reproductive health. His career has spanned the north, east and southern parts of India.

Sabitra is happily married to Soumee, who is a Hospital Administration professional. They have a son named Subhan. Beyond work, Sabitra enjoys reading and traveling.

Shubhrakanti Bhattacharya

Sr. Manager Programme Development

Shubhrakanti joined Mission For Vision in May 2016, with a rich and varied experience of over 17 years working with NGO’s in the public health domain.

Post completing his Msc in Anthropology from the University of Kolkata, Shubhrakanti began his career as a Centre Incharge with Bhoruka Public Welfare Trust in 1998. His next role was with CARE India with whom he worked as a Field Officer until 2003. Post this he served as a Public Health Specialist with the prestigious LN Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad with whom he worked until 2010. His next assignment was with TCI India with whom he spent 3 years until 2013 as a Regional Manager. His last role was as Senior Program Manager with India Vision Institute whom he joined in 2013.

During this period he co-authored several publications in peer reviewed journals and presented many papers at national and international forums. Beyond work, he enjoys gardening and listening to the golden oldies.

Sandip Banerjee

Manager – Project Development

Sandip joined Mission For Vision in June, 2010. He has been in the social development profession since 2004. He started his career from a grass root level organization and worked in several projects like RCH, Education, Income Generation, Resettlement & Rehabilitation. He has done a MSW and an MBA with a specialization in Marketing.

Sandip has also done a Programme Manager Course from LAICO Arvind which was supported by Mission for Vision. He has multi sectoral exposure and consistent experiences in various fields of social work enables him to work with any issues of development.

Asitkumar Jadhav

Sr. Optometrist

Asitkumar joined Mission For Vision on March 14, 2017. He has an experience of over 7 years working in the field of Optometry under various disciplines.

After completing his Baccalaureate in Optometry from Lotus College of Optometry in 2009, he commenced his career with Zain eye clinic in Mumbai. In 2010 he moved to Gangar Opticians where he worked for over 3 years as a Senior Optometrist. After this he transitioned to Diagnos Healthcare India in 2014, wherein he was in charge of Mobile Van Diabetic Retinopathy screenings in the urban and rural parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa.

Asitkumat is married and has a son. Beyond work love Aistkumar or ‘Asit’ as he is known to his friends, loves reading and has an avid interest in Astronomy and Photography.

Pankaj Vishwakarma

Head – Programme Impact

Pankaj joined Mission For Vision in January, 2015. He comes with over 16 years experience in the social development sector. Pankaj holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development from Xavier Institute of Social Service. Thereafter he did his Master’s Degree in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences.

Pankaj commenced his career with the International Development Enterprise as a District Marketing Manager. Thereon he transitioned to Care International, Sightsavers and Lodha Group. In his last assignment he worked as a General Manager - Corporate Social Responsibility with the Lodha Group.

Dhanaji Ranpise

Manager - Programme Impact

Dhanaji joined Mission For Vision in September, 2012. He comes with over 10 years of experience in the field of healthcare and development. He has completed his Masters in Social Work from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. His last assignment was as a Program Officer with Avert India Mumbai.

Dhanaji looks after Patient Care Audit activities for the North and West zones i.e. Tulsi Eye Hospital – Nashik, Sankara Eye Hospital – Anand, Bhojraj Eye Hospital – Anand and Nirmal Ashram Eye Institute - Rishikesh, which are all partner hospitals of Mission for Vision.

Jaikumar D

Manager - Programme Impact

Jaikumar joined Mission For Vision in October, 2010. He completed his Masters in Social Work from the Madras School of Social Work, Chennai, and completed PGDHRM from Pondicherry University. He has over 11 years of experience post qualification in various development sectors like Health, Water & Sanitation and Social Franchising in organizations such as the National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR), Population Services International, LEAD, Srirangam.

Jaikumar manages the Programme Impact work in South–1, taking care of 5 Partner Hospitals i.e. Sankara Nethralaya JCOC (Chennai), Sankara Eye Hospital (Pammal), Sankara Rural Eye Hospital (Krishnankoil), Sankara Eye Hospital (Guntur) and Sri Srinivasa Sankara Nethralaya (Tirupati).

Jaikumar is married to Pavithra a housewife and has a son, Rishab Govind.

Amit Mondal

Zonal Coordinator – East

Amit is working at Mission for vision since 2009, having substantial work experience in the East and North east part of India. He started his career with Ogilvy outreach (A division of O&M) in the year of 2004. He handled several assignments thereafter with NGOs over 12 years in various domains such as community health and hygiene, education, vocational training, orphanage, literacy program me for adults etc. He has completed his MSW and MBA with specialization on Human resources and also holds a post-graduation diploma on Disaster management (PGDDM).

Amit is currently based in Kolkata west Bengal and happily married with Sangita.

Shobhna Chavan

Executive – Programme Impact

Shobhna completed her Para Professional course in Social Work with a first class. She started her career 13 years ago. She was always inclined to work in the development sector and has worked with various NGOs since. Her key interest has always been in handling Management Information Systems (MIS). She has been associated with Mission for Vision since 2011 and is a part of the Patient Care Audit department, one of the largest departments at Mission for Vision. Her role is to coordinate with Partner Hospitals and Zonal Coordinators, collecting and compiling all data and ensuring reports are delivered on time.

Ravistan Anthony

Head – Finance

Ravistan joined Mission For Mission in July, 2015. He has over 22 years of experience in the social development sector. Previously he worked with various non-profit organisations such as Aga Khan Health Services, Family Planning Association of India and UnLtd India. He has completed his Post Graduation in commerce (M.Com), MBA in Finance also he holds a degree in law. His keen interest and experience includes setting up of legal entities, compliances related to charitable organisations, capacity building of startup and grassroots’ organisations, creating internal control systems, financial planning and budgeting.

Hemant Kulkarni

Manager – Accounts

Hemant completed his B. Com. way back in 1980 from Bombay University. With a total experience of 32 years, he has worked with various NGOs and other organisations in the Finance department. Hemant has been associated with Mission for Vision since November 2005.

Siddharth Shinde

Accounts Executive

Siddharth joined Mission For Vision in October, 2013. He did his B. Com from the University of Mumbai, after which he went on to do a Diploma in Financial Management from the prestigious Welingkar Institute, and followed that up with an MBA in Finance from the Sikkim Manipal University. He has a previous experience of over 5 years before joining Mission For Vision.

Sherley Patole

Office Administrator

Sherley joined Mission For Vision in July 2016, and has a previous work experience of almost 13 years.

After completing her Bachelors in Commerce, Sherley went on to do her Masters in Commerce from Mumbai University. Sherley has almost 13 years of experience in roles which can be categorized as client facing. She began her career as a Customer Service Executive in Tata Tele Services in 2003, and later moved to Hutchinson Max Telecom in 2004. Her last employment was with Hindustan Diamond Company with whom she had a tenure of over 11 years.

Beyond work, Sherley enjoys dancing, music and playing chess.

Noble Sebastian

HR Partner

Noble joined Mission For Vision in April 2016, and with an experience of more than 5 years spread across the ITeS and Banking sectors.

Post completing his Bachelor’s in Economics, Noble went on to do an MBA in Human Resources from Chetana’s Insititue of Management & Research in Mumbai. Thereafter he began his career with Ugam Solutions Pvt Ltd which operates in the ITeS space as a Management Trainee. In 2015 he transitioned to Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, India as an Assistant Vice President - Talent Management.

In addition to heading the Human Resource function, Noble also handles online and offline Communications for MFV, largely focusing on its Social Media presence.

In his free time Noble enjoys reading and writing.

C. S. Durai

Patient Mobilisation

Mr. Durai has served with the Chanrai group for the last 40 years, starting his career in Nigeria as a quality control manager. He has been a part of various projects with Tulsi Rural Development Trust (TRDT) Chennai and the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation (TCF) Nigeria.

Apart from handling patient care services in Nigeria and in India, he has been involved with feeding the poor people program in the rural areas of Tamil Nadu and a scholarship project for meritorious students from economically weaker section for higher studies since 2000.

He currently leads the patient mobilisation team for Mission for Vision in South India. He is passionate about reading and likes to attend Satsang meetings.
