Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), Delhi
This is one of the largest eye hospitals in Delhi. The purpose of the hospital is to provide affordable eye care services to the population in and around Delhi including neighboring states. The hospital also undertakes training and research work.
The Institution owes its genesis to a one room clinic in the walled city of Delhi set up by Dr. S.P Shroff in 1914. Dr. Shroff had just returned from England after completing his FRCS and wanted to serve his impoverished countrymen. Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi is the only Eye & ENT Institute of North India with NABH Accreditation. In 2009, about 200,000 people availed its medical and surgical services. SCEH is making a difference by building knowledge and capacities. SCEH is involved in active research, consistent training and sharing of knowledge and skills. The consequent synergies propel them into breaking new frontiers in technology and services and help impact lives. The base hospital is located at Daryaganj, in the heart of Delhi city, in a heritage building which was constructed in 1926.
