This facility was inaugurated in March 2008 as a part of Sankara Eye Foundation India’s (SEFI) Vision 20/20 by 2020 goal. Established on a 4.5 acres campus on the HAL Airport-Whitefield Road in Bangalore, the centre is accessible to the most parts of the city.
This 225 bed hospital is equipped to take care of all eye care needs from routine eye exams to the latest advances in medical care, including LASIK laser treatment and eye surgery; all in the specially designed facility. The hospital also houses a state of the art Ocular Oncology and Ocularistry centre. Sankara Academy of Vision, the human resource capacity building arm of Sankara Eye Foundation India is based here. It has been the recipient of many awards like “Namma Bengaluru” for providing the best community eye program.

Sankara Eye Hospital inaugurated in Shimoga in October 2008 is the region’s largest independent eye hospital. The construction of the community wing has been sponsored by the Kewalram Chanrai family of Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai.
The 225 bed Sankara Eye Hospital, Shimoga is the region’s largest independent eye hospital. The community wing is called as Jaslok Community Ophthalmic Centre. The hospital is equipped with Low Vision Service, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal Services, LASIK, Cataract Clinic etc.
