Mission Disha

Research has revealed a high prevalence of refractive error among heavy vehicle drivers. With visual impairment common among people over the age of 40, timely intervention can avert accidents and a lifetime of challenges for everyone on the road. Mission Disha proactively engages truckers, bus drivers and their support community to address the inherent strain on eyes that comes with prolonged driving through screening camps.

Individuals are screened and then advised for spectacles, surgery, and other interventions as needed as well as provided eye health education. Screenings are conducted in major hubs where truck drivers congregate. The Mission Disha programme is constantly scaling up and reaching out to other public vehicle drivers and skilled workers to promote the motto of “Vision at Workplaces”.
